Senior Administrator for Platform Firewall and VDI Support

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and operate complex VMware based platform environments

• Plan and implement platform commissioning and infrastructure projects

• Perform advanced troubleshooting root cause analysis and resolution of complex technical issues

• Develop technical concepts solution designs and decision making documentation

• Design and implement supporting tools automation solutions and operational workflows

• Plan and manage complex IT projects including resource and supplier coordination

• Develop and monitor measures to ensure service levels operational efficiency and customer satisfaction

• Contribute to infrastructure strategy organizational development and service portfolio improvements

• Participate in technical acquisition activities and provide technical leadership where required

• Maintain accurate technical documentation and operational procedures

• Support IT infrastructure projects for public sector organizations

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Masters degree Diploma or equivalent qualification with relevant professional experience

• At least 7 years of overall professional experience including 5 years in IT administration

• Strong hands on experience with the OMNISSA Horizon platform

• Solid knowledge of VMware vSphere and VMware vCenter

• Experience with VMware networking components including port groups and virtual switches

• ITIL Expert certification or equivalent qualification

• Mandatory SÜ security clearance or certificate as required for the assignment

• Excellent analytical conceptual and problem solving abilities

• Strong customer orientation and a structured systematic approach to work

• Excellent communication presentation moderation and stakeholder management skills

• Strong leadership teamwork and conflict resolution abilities

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

• Professional and confident communication with technical teams customers and management

Preferred Skills

• Experience with VMware Firewall and microsegmentation

• Previous leadership or technical team management experience

• Experience managing complex infrastructure projects and coordinating external suppliers

• Strong presentation and stakeholder engagement skills

Important Work Conditions

• Five days per week on site in Cologne Germany

• Remote work is not available

• German language proficiency at C2 or native level is mandatory

• Advanced English proficiency is required

• Willingness to travel up to 10 percent is required
