Configuration Management Competence Area Manager at Darmstadt, Germany

Your Role

As the Configuration Management Competence Area Manager, you will:

• Leadership and Resource Management:
  • Oversee the Configuration Management (CM) Competence Area, ensuring the availability of necessary resources, skills, and tools.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams and develop long-term continuity of critical skills.
• Configuration Management Processes:
  • Define, implement, and continuously improve CM processes for technical departments and programs in development and operations.
  • Ensure alignment with EUMETSAT policies, organizational needs, and international standards.
• Support and Reporting:
  • Deliver CM support, including Configuration Status Account Reports and metrics on CM process implementation.
  • Support change control boards and conduct configuration audits for contractors involved in new developments.
• Training and Awareness:
  • Organize and conduct regular CM training and awareness sessions for staff and stakeholders.
    
    
  • Your Profile
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 10 years managing CM processes and leading multidisciplinary teams in a technology-intensive domain.
    • Proven ability to define and implement CM policies, objectives, and procedures.
    • Experience running or supporting change control boards.
    • Strong process modeling, problem-solving, and monitoring skills.
  • Leadership Skills:
    • Demonstrated expertise in leading large teams, developing people, and ensuring continuity of critical skills.
  • Interpersonal Skills:
    • Strong communication abilities with a customer-oriented approach.
  • Technical Knowledge:
    • Sound understanding of engineering principles relevant to CM.
